Welcome to Early College High School!
It is our hope that this website will provide you with practical and interesting information about events and activities at ECHS.
The staff, parents, and students at ECHS have set a standard that will accept no less than a student's personal best. This not only applies to academic achievement, but behavioral expectations as well. We expect all students to have good attendance and follow the school rules. The teachers and support staff are a great group of dedicated individuals who are committed to providing quality education and maintaining high expectations for all students.
We are excited to begin our fourth year and we will have our first graduating class. Since ECHS began in 2006, we have accomplished many great things! In 2008-2009, we were named a California Distinguished School and received WASC accreditation. We also received the top rank of 10 in the state ranking of schools with API scores over 800.
Our commitment is to help each student learn to communicate and compute, problem solve, think well, work effectively in groups, effectively use technology and deal with rapid social change. We also emphasize building a strong character in the process so that students can meet with confidence and competence the complex changes of the future. This is reflected in our mission statement:
Early College High School will genuinely engage a wide spectrum of students by offering a complete and rigorous curriculum, supported by technology, aligned to student interests and state standards.Flexible and innovative coursework with an applied learning focus will be provided in a challenging and supportive environment.Students will earn a high school diploma and many will earn an associate of arts degree enabling them to pursue a career path or a four-year college.
We hope your student finds our school a nurturing and challenging place where he/she develops intellectually, learns interpersonal skills and establishes personal connections to his/her academic world in pursuit of his/her post-secondary goals.
Our website is a great resource for additional information about ECHS. Please check it regularly to stay up-to-date with the happenings on campus. We invite you to get involved as part of our school community!
